Cheshire Furniture Re-use Forum
The Forum is made up of 14 not-for-profit projects that work with their local authority to collect quality reusable furniture and household appliances throughout Cheshire and donate or sell it at low cost.
The projects:
- support people on their own and families when they need it most, helping people to set up home or access furniture they can't afford.
- help the environment by stopping lots of good quality furniture ending up on landfill sites.
- provide training and volunteer opportunities which can help people find a job.
The projects are professionally organised with 33 paid and 240 voluntary staff. We provide training and work opportunities with 49 people receiving this support this year.
In 2007 - 8 the projects:
- Re-used 652 tonnes of furniture, the equivalent of 29,636 single mattresses.
- Helped 43,800 people.
- The average wait for collection was 5.8 days.
- The average wait for delivery was 3.2 days.
Could you help us?
If you want to donate good quality furniture or household goods which someone else could re-use, or help in any other way, please find the details of the project nearest you and contact them. Thanks!
